Dear friends,
As we bid farewell to 2024 and welcome the promise of a new year, we would like to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks for your support. Since the launch of this newsletter in August 2024, we’ve grown to a larger community of subscribers from around the world. Your keen interest in China-related affairs drives our commitment to enhancing the content we provide and sharing a uniquely “Chinese perspective” with audiences across the globe.
I am Sun Chenghao, the founder of ChinAffairs+. Over the past four months in 2024, I was a visiting scholar at Paul Tsai China Center, Yale Law School in the United States. This experience was truly unforgettable. Engaging with scholars there not only deepened my belief in the importance of promoting Chinese perspectives abroad but also highlighted the critical role of fostering dialogue and mutual understanding among scholars from China, the United States, and the broader international community.
In just around four months since our launch, ChinAffairs+ has made remarkable strides. In addition to curating research from Chinese academics in our “Selected Articles” section, we introduced a new “China Scholar Insights” section, offering exclusive commentary on pressing global issues from Chinese scholars.
As our team continues to grow, we are thrilled to announce plans for the year of 2025, including “Exclusive Interviews” and a dedicated “Podcast” section. In recent days, we’ve started featuring podcast content produced by the Centre for International Security and Strategy (CISS) at Tsinghua University. We warmly welcome your feedback and critique as we embark on this journey together.
From all of us at ChinAffairs+, we wish you a Happy New Year, filled with success in your endeavors, joy in your lives, and fulfillment in all that you do. Thank you for being an integral part of our journey.
Best regards,
The ChinAffairs+ Team
